Madison Wendel threw a shutout to lead Coldwater Cavaliers Varsity past Ridgemont (Mount Victory, OH) 15-0 on Saturday.

Claire Steinke led Coldwater Cavaliers Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. Steinke went 3-for-4 at the plate. Steinke drove in runs on a single in the first, a home run in the third, and a single in the fourth.

Coldwater Cavaliers Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Steinke singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Coldwater Cavaliers Varsity notched eight runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to home runs by Molly Steinke and Steinke, a triple by Maddie Sheffer, a single by Macy Sheffer, and a groundout by Riley Kremer.

One bright spot for Ridgemont (Mount Victory, OH) was a single by E Smith in the third inning.

Wendel led the Coldwater Cavaliers Varsity to victory in the pitcher’s circle. The hurler went five innings, allowing zero runs on four hits and striking out nine.

W Bailey took the loss for Ridgemont (Mount Victory, OH). The pitcher allowed 12 hits and 13 runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Steinke had the most chances in the field with nine.
