Girls Middle School Cross Country · Girls Middle School Cross Country finishes 1st place at Ottawa Glandorf Invitational

  Place Points
Coldwater High School 1st 28

“Run Together, Run Fast, Have Some Fun, and Win” was the mission for the JH Girls XC team today. As the temperatures rose throughout the morning, so did the Lady Cavs expectation to walk away with the first place trophy. When the dust settled after the 11:15 race, it was evident the 7th and 8th grade representatives from Coldwater did just that with an exclamation point. They would place their team’s top 7 in the top 21 overall finishers for the race with an concentration of 5 runners in the top 11. This would add up to an impressive 28 points with second place scoring 105 points. Top 7 individual finishers were:
Haley Alig 2nd 12:48
Ava Giere 6th 13:26
Carlee Goodwin 8th 13:34
Paige Ayers 10th 13:41
Laci Schritz 11th 13:46
Lindsey Pease 19th 14:12
Lily Schoenherr 21st 14:20

Other finishers were:
Shelby Homan 14:28
Emma Frilling 15:00
Brianna Keller 15:13
Riley Rismiller 16:09
Hannah Dillhoff 16:33

In post race interviews, Haley Alig was asked about her team’s secret to their success, her response was, “prerace facial exercises”. If you want to know more, ask any of the JH Lady Cav XC runners.

They will be back in action next Saturday at the Van Wert Invite. Come and check them out at the race. Don’t blink because they are really fast.
