Coldwater Cavaliers stole the lead late and defeated South Adams 12-2 on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Coldwater Junior Varsity Cavaliers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Keegan Bruggeman’s sac fly scored one run for the Cavaliers.
The Cavs put up eight runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by singles by Welsch, Duerr, Harlamert, and Baumer, and a double by Overman.
Baumer took the win for Coldwater. The ace went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out six and walking one. Bruggeman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Miralle took the loss for South Adams. The hurler went one-third of an inning, allowing seven runs on six hits and walking zero.
Muselman started the game for South Adams. The bulldog allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two
Coldwater saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. Baumer, Justin Kaup, Harlamert, and Welsch each collected multiple hits for the Cavaliers. Welsch, Harlamert, Kaup, and Baumer each collected two hits to lead the Cavs. Coldwater stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Casey Goodwin led the way with two.
Lenington went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead South Adams in hits.
