Coldwater defeated Liberty Benton 7-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Ross Weigel induced a groundout Doubleplay from Snider to finish off the game.
The Cavs fired up the offense in the second inning, when Will Broering singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Coldwater tallied three runs in the fourth inning. Broering and Weigel all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Jacob Wenning was credited with the victory for the Cavs. He allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out one and walking zero. Weigel threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Wolford took the loss for Liberty Benton. He went six innings, allowing seven runs on ten hits and walking zero.
The Cavs racked up ten hits in the game. Weigel, Wenning, and Austin Riethman all managed two hits for Coldwater.
Cavs improve to 4-3 and LB drops to 5-2. Coldwater returns to action tomorrow vs. Tri-County North for a 3:00 first pitch. The game will be played at Wright State University in Dayton.
