Coldwater wins contest against Paulding , 5-1

Coldwater got things moving in the second inning. The Cavs scored two runs when Austin Riethman singled.

Cole Frilling pitched Coldwater to victory. He allowed three hits and one run over six innings, striking out nine. Brad Giere threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Giere recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Cavs.

Phlipot took the loss for Paulding . He lasted five and a third innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out two.

Coldwater had eight hits in the game. Jacob Wenning and Nathan Grunden each racked up multiple hits for Coldwater. Grunden and Wenning each collected two hits to lead the Cavs. Coldwater was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jacob Hartings made the most plays with nine.

Coldwater improves to 19-5 on the season while Paulding ends their season at 9-12. Coldwater returns to action tomorrow at Veterans field with a noon start against Ft. Loramie. Coldwater advances to play a 2:00 District game at Elida on Thursday.
